A True Romance

When I mentioned I was doing a cruise blog that would be published on the 14th of February, my husband started waltzing round the house singing, to a tune that is probably etched into the hearts of billions.

Now I can’t say I fall into the category that could instantly recall all the words as I was only a little girl and my husband is a little older, however I did know the tune…

So what tune and world famous television programme comes to mind when you combine a cruise and romance?

Well here are the words my husband sang:-

Love, exciting and new. Come aboard, were all expecting you.

Love, life’s sweetest reward, let it flow, it floats back to you.

The Love Boat soon will be making another run

The Love Boat promises something for everyone

Set a course for adventure, your mind on a new romance.

Love won’t hurt anymore, It’s an open smile on a friendly shore.

THE LOVE BOAT

I know you are all singing

Set aboard the Pacific Princess this weekly adventure into the world of cruising and the fragile hearts and romances between passengers and crew members! Such an American classic.  So whatever happened to the ship that set the stage for so many ocean bound romantic rendezvous?

It is with great sadness that I must announce that she is awaiting her ultimate fate in a Turkish shipyard, having been unable to secure a new owner.  Sad as this news is, I think her memory will live on, in the most cherished corners of every cruisers heart.

Carrying only 700 passengers this relatively small vessel afforded the opportunity for a more personal exchange between staff and guests.

An aspect to cruising that many more people are now looking for within a crowded market place, where biggest seems to be all the rage and grabs all the headlines.  In truth if you want to experience true luxury, or to experience the personal service then there is only one golden rule. Small is beautiful.

You can jump into a pod with a dozen others and get dangled over the side, at the end of a large hydraulic arm. Or, you can sit and enjoy a candlelit dinner for two with three waiters at your service, drinking a fine Chablis, which perfectly complements the Lobster.

I know which one says romance to me ………….

Sales are so buoyant within the luxury cruise market, that one operator is about to raise its prices and announced additional price increases are on the way.

Crystal has two luxury cruise ships, the Crystal Serenity and the Crystal Symphony, that sail in every major region of the world. They are elegantly appointed with teak decks, rich wood trim and polished brass, and offer an interesting array of on-board amenities and services that provide a level of luxury not found on larger vessels.
