NCL brings ‘Joy’ to racing fans…

That’s right NCL has teamed up with Ferrari to bring it’s guest the first Ferrari branded racetrack at sea.

Now the fact that NCL have just recently gone All Inclusive with tips included, now they have added a racetrack to their ships it is really not going to take much to recommend this brand to my partner. Those two things alone were more than enough to get his attention.

The first ever racetrack at sea was introduced by NCL back in March 2016. Now they have kicked it up a notch and will be bringing a Two-Level Ferrari branded racetrack to the top deck of the new soon to be delivered Norwegian Joy.This is the first ship NCL have custom built for Chinese travelers.

Waving the checkered flag.

So what’s this racetrack all about then. No more than 10 drivers at a time can race each other around the track in electric go karts and there’s an opportunity to have your picture taken at the finish line. You can then share this with friends and family back home. As part of the benefits for guests who are staying in The Haven or Concierge Class staterooms the rides will be complimentary.

This new attraction has come about from NCL’s partner ship with Scuderia Ferrari Watches. These watches will be available in a shop across from the racetrack.A close up low angle, cross processed image of a racing car moving at high speed on a racetrack. The action occurs during a race under a stormy overcast sky in the evening, at sunset, during a racing event. The location is fictional and the car in CG generated.

The Norwegian Joy is a 3850 passenger ship and is due to be delivered on April 27th. This comes after a grand inaugural port tour leading up to its naming by ‘King of Chinese Pop’ Wang Leehom on June 27th. The ship is then scheduled to sail from Shanghai and Tianjin.

Me and Jon are always up for new attractions so something like this would really be up our street. I can see why NCL have introduced this first racetrack at sea as there’s a lot of competition out there and still more new ships to come in the next few years. But are there some of you out there that think they are just getting too big or a bit too crazy with these attractions. Let me know what you think.
