I had never seen a Cruise and Maritime ship before so i was really looking forward to this. And i must say i was genuinely very surprised. I thought she would be quite small and maybe the decor pretty old that kind of thing however she felt the opposite.
I went to see the ship at Tilbury. It wasn’t a terrible drive coming from Sheffield but of course with an early start to the morning there was quite a bit of traffic on the M1. The long stay car park is very easy to spot.
I’ll start by giving you some facts regarding the Columbus.
I often get asked what plus sockets are on board so i made sure i asked for this one. They use European two pin sockets.
If you are travelling on your own you will be pleased to know that it is only a 25% single supplement with Cruise and Maritime and on board the Columbus they have 150 double cabins dedicated to single passengers. Naturally these can book up very quickly. On board you can expect ‘Singles Mingles’ and ‘Single Cocktail Parties’.
When i was shown around the cabins i was surprised as to how roomy they were and the amount of storage space. All cabins feature a flat-screen television, hairdryer, fridge and personal safe and is graded according to size and/or position within the ship.
