My Second Love!

Now you’re probably wondering, what does a cruise specialist do on their day off?  And no, it isn’t looking for my own holidays or cruises.  Although that is what I did recently…. Lanzarote in November here we come.

But no. I actually play rugby.  Now I know what you are thinking… Woman playing rugby does not sound right.  But believe it or not, there is a such a big call for it around Wales and Swansea.  I play tight-head (for those not in the know number 3) for my local team Morriston RFC Ladies.  I have been playing with them for 1 year, and we have recently just finished playing in the Division 3 league and have finished 4th.  That’s not bad going for a team that was started last January and has consisted mainly of people who have never played before.  And most recently we actually got the Quarter-Finals of the Super Cup, but were unfortunately beaten by a well-oiled Division 2 side.

Unfortunately, my season came to end on Mother’s Day (my mother wasn’t too impressed – trust me), when I got caught in a tackle and dislocated my knee.  But as the saying goes “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” , and that’s exactly how I feel at the moment.  Physio is going well and hopefully be back to pre-season.

It isn’t only playing rugby that I love, it is watching it, and i love the Ospreys, being a Season Ticket holder – always get down to watch the boys. But it is not just the Ospreys, I love watching any rugby, and this is why this weekend after Thursday, my out of office will be going until Tuesday as I travel up to Edinburgh to spend the weekend with my Dad, we have tickets to European Champions Cup Final and also the European Challenge Cup Final  – I am looking forward to this as, since my dad moved up to Glasgow, I do not get to see him as often as I would like – so this will be a good weekend just the two of us.
