2019 The Year of the Pig or Cruising?

This year is the year of cruising!

Cruising is becoming more popular than ever before! If there is one important lesson I have learnt over my years of selling cruising it’s that you must make sure you get right ship to suit your customer. Of course, destination, budget and all those other aspects play an important part in your customers holiday, but, if you get the ship wrong, the whole holiday is affected. I always say the cruise ship is your destination and everywhere else is just the cherry on top!

So many new innovative ships have been born in the past 2-3 years, with so many more being built right now, ready to be launched this year. The list is endless. Here is a few, with some exciting facts:

MSC Bellissima

Set to launch: March 2019

Capacity: 4,500

The second ship to enter service in the Meraviglia class. MSC Bellissima features some different features to rival those of her sister ship, MSC Meraviglia. It will have the Innovative MSC for Me technology which connects you to your fellow guests, the crew and the ship itself. And it will be the first ship in the fleet that guests will experience the world’s first digital cruise assistant, Zoe, which is a voice-enabled Artificial Intelligence device fitted in every cabin. It will also feature a two-deck inside promenade which has a 80-metre-long LED dome, and it has two new exclusive shows from Cirque du Soleil at Sea.

 

Spectrum of the Seas

Set to launch: April 2019

Capacity: 4,180

Spectrum of the Seas like its sister ships — Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas is the fourth ship in this class. It will feature activities such as onboard bumper cars and a skydiving simulator, the most popular activities you have on board this class of Royal ships. It also will feature the North Star, a pod that extends up and over the ship for 360-degree picturesque views. The Inside cabins will feature floor-to-ceiling LCD TV screens linked to a camera mounted on the outside of the ship called virtual balconies. It also will feature the innovative entertainment space, Two70, which integrates HD-digital technology with singing, dancing and acrobatics and other events.

 

Sky Princess

Set to Launch: November 2019

Capacity: 3,560

Sky Princess will be the fourth ship to feature in the Royal Class, she will debut in 2019. It will include staples like the three-deck-high famous princess atrium, Movies Under the Stars and balconies in over 80% percent of the cabins, as well as a top new features.
