Wheelchair users be aware

Greetings cruisers

I hope you are all well and getting used to the dropping temperatures, it is certainly getting colder and we will all need some winter sunshine, and what better way to get away from it all and book a cruise somewhere warm. Booking a cruise for the first time can always be a bit daunting for the best of us, however for wheelchair users and users of mobility scooters it can be even difficult, the issue is not with the ships being wheelchair friendly most cruise lines accommodate wheel chair and mobility scooter users, however there are some very different rules for each type of chair.

If you are booking a cruise and you need the use of a wheelchair or mobility scooter it is very important at the time of booking you let your agent know straight away, the reason for this is certain cruise lines will only allow certain cabins to be used for mobility scooters, not all cabins will allow wheelchair and mobility scooters and if this is not checked at the time of booking there could be a very real problem when you get to the ship and check in. There are also some cruise lines that will allow wheelchairs but will only allow a certain amount of them on each cruise and if at the time of the booking their limit has been met you will not be permitted to take it. As you can already see there are so many different rules and it is so important that you check at the time of booking whether you will be ok to travel.

With this all in mind I have added some information below that should help you decide on what cruise line best works for you. So the best advice I can offer you, please please please make sure you let the agent know of your needs so that they can confirm everything will be ok.
