Wash your hands

This is a subject that really annoys me, and I want to get it off my chest, my father recently came back off a cruise a couple of days ago and as always I asked him how it all went, well I wish I had not bothered!

All he did was complain about the cleanliness of the ship and how his cruise was ruined because he caught the norwalk virus. Any ways I let him go off about it and once he had settled down I explained to him that most cruise ships are kept cleaner than any 5 star hotel. Its not the ship that is at fault, it’s the passengers. This did not go down well with him and he continued to blame the ship for his unfortunate illness. I can assure you all,having spent a long time working on ships that it is always the passenger that is at fault.

I lost count how many times whilst using the public toilets I caught passengers leaving the toilet without washing their hands, how disgusting is that, you use the toilet don’t wash your hands and then wander around the ship leaving all your dirty germs over stairwells, lift buttons, and even on food utensils at the buffet. It got so bad that I decided to pull the guilty passengers up on this and would tell them to go back and wash their hands, you can imagine how well this went down with them! but they needed to be told. I once caught this virus on a world cruise and missed the Suez Canal, I was not a happy bunny.
