Stuffy inside cabin no thanks

Greetings cruisers

Hope you are all well and getting ready for another busy summer, I have booked my summer holiday and it might surprise you but I am not going on a cruise but heading to Bulgaria with my family, however there are many newbies already looking forward to their first cruise. It is always a nice call to receive when someone is looking at booking their first cruise, however it is still amazing to hear their first worry is that they do not want to be stuck in a tiny small room that they have experienced when cruising a night booze cruise from the UK to Spain. I do try to explain to them that this is certainly not going to be the case and even inside cabins are surprisingly spacious. I remember when I first joined my first ship in 1995 yes some of the cabins were very small but that has all changed.

So with this in mind I have added a guide to cabin types which I hope will dispel these rumours that cabins on ships are tiny and stuffy.

Despite the fact that cruise lines offer as many as 20 or more cabin “categories” per ship, it’s helpful to remember that there are essentially only four types of cabins, the majority are for double occupancy, plus, you might find a limited number of single occupancy cabins.

Inside: no window, in an inside corridor.

Outside: window or porthole with a view to the outside, which may be clear or obstructed view.

Balcony: includes a Balcony or Verandah that gives you that outside space without going up to a public deck, which may be clear or obstructed view.

Suite and/or Mini-Suite: a larger cabin, often with separate living and sleeping areas, and a wide variety of extra amenities and perks.

Now after that basic information, what about those cruise lines that have their own special twist on some cabins types to give added benefits or just that little differentiator, so what are they?
