Aurora… the Agents view

After a very enjoyable 2 night mini cruise on the P&O Aurora cruising from Southampton, I’d thought I’d let you know the nitty gritty about the ship.

Embarkation was very smooth.  We had to queue for a while going through security but that cannot be helped.  Onboard the bars were open, so a few cheeky drinks were in order before I ventured to the cabin.  Prices were very reasonable £2.95 a bottle of lager and £3.95 Vodka and Tonic.

The cabin was spacious and well presented.  Unfortunately some of the finer points were lacking like no bath robe or slippers and the towels were stained.  This was rectified with a quiet word in my room attendants ear.

The sore point for me was at dinner.  My table had to wait over one hour for our main dinner to arrive and when it did it was cold.  I complained and a few excuses came out of one of the head waiters mouth.  This was unacceptable and we ordered again.  The food had just been micro waved unfortunately.  By this time it was 10.30 at night and it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The second night the service was exceptional though so maybe a small complaint goes a long way.  Apart from this minor point the cruise was excellent and the staff of http://www.cruise.co.uk/ seemed to have a great time.  Once the pictures come out (and after they have been vetted) I’ll incorporate some into this blog.
