Quantum’s First Cruise

As many of you will be aware, the Quantum Of The Seas is Royal Caribbean’s newest ship with all the fantastic features. Quantum’s first cruise was a transatlantic from Southampton to New York on 2nd November. My lovely clients Hannah & Michael were some of the lucky few to have travelled on it, they have kindly allowed me to share there memories, comments and photos.

I guess the first thing we should mention is it was the very first voyage and of course there is as always some teething problems.  Hannah and Michael found this when checking in. The new check in process did not go as smoothly as it was meant to with long queues and a few people did not get there bags till very late on.  Once that little hiccup was sorted they had time to have a look around the ship which is fantastic. There are some really fabulous features on the ship, and of course everything was so beautiful and new.  The cabins were really nice with very spacious bathrooms with big showers, very modern.

Food on board was outstanding. They both went to the Silk restaurant the first evening, loved it so much they booked to go again. They also went to the American Icon Grill again, the food was superb.  If you like pizzas then you will love “Sorrentos” the pizzas there were to die for!

Entertainment on board? Well just so much of it, they did not know where to start.  The Mamma Mia show was brilliant, well worth seeing. There is a music hall which they loved, as just like a pub. Hannah liked the 270 lounge best of all. The lounge is situated at the back of the ship which has amazing views. Has a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a lovely cafe there too which serves great sandwiches (food again Hannah!)  They did not do any of the dodgems or sky diving but they did go on the North Star which was well worth the wait. Good job really as they waited an hour and a half to get on there! The queues were enormous, with some people waiting well over 2 hours to get on. Neither of them paid, not sure if that was because it was the first time though!

Surely it cant be that good?  Well Hannah did say she did not like the smoking in the casino which did stop both her and Michael going in. There is also not enough shops in her opinion which sold “normal” day to day things. Apart from this Hannah and Michael would most definitely like to travel on the ship again.   Perhaps now is the time for you to try it?
