Embarkation Day!

If your a first timer or haven’t  yet settled into a familiar cruise routine, I thought a list of embarkation day do’s and don’ts would be useful.

Do tour the ship, get your bearings and identify which bars and eateries you want to hit first.

Don’t head straight for the buffet, it can be one of the most crowded places because everyone is hungry.  Instead check out the other dining options.

Do arrange your spa and salon appointments, as the most popular treatment times book up very quickly.

Don’t take the lift if you don’t need to. The lifts are super slow on embarkation day with passengers and crew taking luggage everywhere.

If you have children, don’t forget to check in at the Kids clubs and sign up the little ones for onboard  activities.

Do make any speciality dining reservations if you have not done so already.

Do  book any shore excursions. Some of the excursions have limited space and run out.

Don’t  skip the Muster drill, it really will provide important information in case of emergency plus it is mandatory.

Do try the pool or hot tub, there are often uncrowded on the first day

Don’t  automatically eat dinner in the main dining room, embarkation day can be a good night to try the speciality restaurants.

And lastly do watch the sun set over the ocean, go to the welcome show, hit the casino, sing karaoke and go dancing.  Your cruise starts here! – Enjoy!!
