Cooking On A Crest Of A Wave!

There are so many activities you can do on a cruise holiday, did you know you can also learn to cook too!

P&O have announced that James Martin the renowned TV chef from Saturday Morning Kitchen (as well as a bit of Strictly!) is going to develop the very first cookery school at sea on board the new Britannia ship.  This school will be open to 24 guests at a time and also feature alongside Eric Lanlard, the award winning patissier who will have a patisserie in the Market Cafe.

James wont be the first celebrity chef to join P&O. Marco Pierre White, Atul Kochar and Olly Smith are already firm favourites!

The Britannia will be departing on it’s maiden voyage on 14th March 2015  from Southampton down to the Mediterranean. This will be the largest cruise ship ever built for the British market and carry over 3,600 guests. As well as featuring the largest spa in the P&O fleet it will have  the cookery school.

There are a couple of other cruise lines such as Oceania and Silverseas who offer cookery demonstrations and working alongside the the master chefs, but nothing on this scale as yet.

I know I could do with learning some new cooking tips, the problem for me would be concentrating on the food and not Mr Martin!!  Do you agree?
