Would You Book A Cruise For Some Free Amenities?

Well, this is a first! I read in a newspaper this week that apart from the itinerary of a particular cruise line, some people actually book a cruise because they have great free amenities in their cabin!

Generally,  All cruise lines provide basic toiletries; some offer individual bars of soap and bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, but others go with a combo shampoo/conditioner in a dispenser.  They are of course others, which are usually the high end cruise lines of course that supply you with the “posh” amenities. To give you an idea you could have some Bulgari, L’Occitane, Molton Brown, Hermes, Aveda, Salvatore Ferragamo and Elemis produce which are all rather fab and they top them up every day! I guess, if you are so inclined you could have quite a stash with these!
These are not just what you can get.  For example on my last Celebrity cruise, I was in Aqua class so i got the lovely slippers and dressing gown, along with the Aqua Spa “amenity kit” that include foot spray, lip balm and relaxation mist.  Not counting the “fluffier” towels!
So, talking about amenities in your cabin you can also get the free use of umbrellas, or binoculars or perhaps a rug to sit out if it is cold.  If you are upgrading to some fantastic suite then you get I pod docking stations, espresso maker and bags to carry your bits and bobs in.
All of these amenities are fantastic, but would you really book something just so you can pick up a bottle or two of  Bulgari body cream! More importantly would you dare to take them out of the cabin! I think we are all guilty of taking some free shampoo or shower gel out of a hotel but when it is something so expensive as the above brands?
Who is brave enough to admit they would do it?
Would you?
Till next time x
