Are You A Foodie?

One of the best aspects of cruising has to be the food.  You may be one of those people who just love the sheer quantity or you may be a real “foodie.” There are many of you out there who do have their favourite cruise line in terms of the best food. One of mine is Oceania Cruises, the quality of food is superb and they are synonymous for serving the finest cuisine at sea.

Oceania do not like to rest on their laurels though! They have recently unveiled a expansive and diverse dinner menu which will I am sure be fantastic. So, guests will now have a choice of more than two dozen dishes each evening so that will be 6 appetisers, 3 soups, 4 salads, 9 main courses, and 9 side dishes! You can choose as many as you wish!  They have also expanded the lunch bistro service with more choice on the menus.

If you are a Vegan then they will be a great choice for you as they have also introduced the biggest vegan menu at sea which is in addition to the already excellent vegetarian, gluten free and kosher menus. I am not sure about the next thing – having never tried any, but they have also introduced  the only cold pressed raw juice and vegan smoothie bars at sea too!

If you wanted to do a little cooking on board yourself, then on the Marina and Riviera ships you can try cooking in the culinary centre as well as picking up tips from chefs and restaurateurs.  You can learn the basics of fish cookery, pasta, rice dishes as well as a multitude of other cooking skills which I clearly don’t know about!

From my own experience of sailing with Oceania Cruises, i do think the food is superb. One of the things they are very proud of is they know exactly where the lobster, crab, beef, lamb etc is from as they always use the same food supplier which I think is very good.  Yes, Oceania cruises are a little more money then you would pay with another cruise line but the difference in all aspects on board is pretty well staring you in the face.

If you do love your food and perhaps a bit of a “food critic” then try them, I really think you will love them!
