Am I crazy to compare??

I am recently back from a week away – I took a UK break at Tattershall Lakes County Club near Lincoln. My 2 friends and I decided for Christmas we would have a UK holiday instead of buying each other Christmas presents, spend time together and make memories!!

Tattershall Lakes has lots of different accommodation types, we picked a lodge with a hot tub, 3 bedrooms and it was described as a VIP lodge they said that would be in a great location on the park – Wow was it! We were right on the lake side, our decking and hot tub looked over one of the many lakes so we enjoyed beautiful sun sets, watching lots of wildlife…and a bit of people watching!! Onsite there was lots of water sports that you could take part in, a lovely little swimming pool (that they are currently expanding), 2 bars, 2 restaurants, outdoor cinema, children’s outdoor play park and so much more it literally had everything you could need. We had a brilliant time away here ending in a night in Lincoln city center visiting my little brother and his girlfriend who are currently studying at Uni.

While I was away it got me thinking – alot of people still have some concerns, hang ups, worries, pre-conceived thoughts about Cruising. But whilst I was in this resort/park in my lodge, I had similar facilities available to me when on a cruise and there was some similarities in how you would holiday in one of these parks compared to a cruise.

Obviously there is the elephant in the room and your thinking but a ship is in the sea and you were in a lodge Millie!!! But I thought I would share with you some of my thoughts below –

My lodge was like a cruise stateroom, my own area surrounded by other holiday makers doing their own thing.

We picked one of their top accommodation grades that suited our requirements – like a cruise staterooms, they start from insides and go up to suites to suit all requirements and budgets.

There was restaurants offering different options – just like on a ship where you would have a few options and locations to eat.

Lots of activities you can enjoy, some at no extra cost and some at a small supplement – so many cruise ships now have activities you can enjoy such as Rock Climbing, Ice Skating, Cinema, many swimming pools and much more!

Most days we ventured out of the comfort of our lodge and the park to explore the area around and further to do some different activities – this is just like getting off the ship in each destination and discovering/exploring each day.

There was maintenance, hot tub attendees, guest services on hand for anything we required or any help we needed – again just like a cruise ship here all of the staff are there for anything you need.

Do you think I’m crazy comparing the two? Or do you agree with me?
