A Guide To Shore Excursions – Istanbul

istanbulFor this weeks blog I’m going to share with you what’s to see and do in the magical city of Istanbul. There is so much to  offer in this exotic city. Where ancient meets modern, where East meets West. The sights and sounds are truly magnificent.

A must see is a visit to The Blue Mosque. One of the most famous landmarks in Istanbul known as the Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles surrounding the walls of the interior design. With 6 soaring minarets and  spectacular domes, this active mosque is worth a visit. blue mosque

Visit the Topkapi Palace where you can look around the gardens and courtyards and take a guided tour looking at the jewels of the original treasury. See the Topkapi Dagger & find robes worn by the sultans and their family. You can get a true feel of  what extravagant lives were lived here in the Palace.

Any visit to Istanbul would be incomplete without stopping at the Grand Bazaar. Probably the best known market of Istanbul with over 4000 stalls across 60 streets. The bustling atmosphere is fantastic and you will certainly get your souvenirs here as you will find stalls offering hand crafts, carpets, jewellery and leather. Be  ready to barter and you may pick up a bargain!!!grand bazaar
