Should there be an ‘e’ in Brochure?

I don’t know if I take my job too seriously and I don’t know about you but I LOVE new cruise brochures, my coffee table is full of them

I don’t think there should be an ‘e’ in brochure – an e-brochure just isn’t the same – of course all of this information can be found online at the click of your mouse but where is the romance of an internet page?

I love it when the new season edition drops through my letterbox, the lovely thick glossy pages filled with beautiful images of the most mouth watering food, beautifully designed and furnished cabins and suites and beautiful photography of amazing destinations all together in 100 or so pages of a new dream filled brochure

I think having a copy of the latest brochure in your hand before, during and after making a booking your booking is important for many reasons

Before booking, I like nothing more than to sit down on a rainy day with a cup of tea (or glass of wine!) and look through my latest brochure, I think this is when your holiday feeling really starts – when you first choose your cruise and destination and you can already imagine being on board!

While making your booking so you can be sure that you are making the right decision for your cabin type and to be able to see the deck plans, to check the itinerary details, for the important stuff like booking conditions and for the additional information in the back pages

After making your booking for all of the extra information you find in these beautiful shiny pages, there is so much information that you just would not know about, with gems of information like the entertainment, the restaurant details and alternative A la carte options, ship facts and figures and details of swimming pools and other on board facilities

To browse for details on drinks or spa packages and gift options, do you know that you can book private Cabanas on board some ships? need to know about internet prices or how much the daily gratuity is or what the dress code is – it’s all here!

I do hope that as the cruise lines go greener and more and more information is processed by email and attachments that cruise brochures do not become a thing of the past

What do you think? do you like to have a brochure or are you happy to use the internet to research your cruise?
