Our Princess Poppy is One…

Well, our little princess Poppy turned One this week, how did that happen so quickly she is a Halloween Baby and I’m sure when she gets older she will be loving the fancy dress parties she will be able to have for her birthday. Been Grandparents is amazing and we have loved every minute of the last year. So with this in mind, I thought I would tell you a little about taking babies and infants onboard.

Cruise lines offer fantastic facilities for infants with nursery and babysitting so even if gran and granddad, don’t travel with you. there is still an option for that romantic dinner should you still want that.

Most cruise lines the minimum age for an infant is 6 months. However, it’s worth checking as cruise lines differ. Transatlantic sailings the age can be higher due to the many days at sea.

Usually, there is an age range for babysitting with Royal Caribbean it’s 12 months. With P & O they offer a night nursery aged from 6 months between the hours of 6 pm and 2 am. Some cruise lines charge for this service. RoyalCaribbean has recently stopped their in-room babysitting however they still offer day and night time Royal babies & tots drop off programs, as well as a nighttime Late night party Zone group babysitting both for an extra fee. Celebrity Cruise line a sister brand to Royal Caribbean also offers in-room babysitting, however, this could change so you would need to double check when booking.

There’s no need to pack that travel cot or worry about a high chair as they can be provided. With Royal Caribbean, you can pre-order Huggies ready to go nappy bags.  Also, Gerber organic baby food to be delivered directly to your stateroom when you arrive. With P & O they provide a wide choice of Hipp baby food and organic ready to drink juice, at no extra cost with P & O. There is also the option for bottle warmers and sterilisers, baby baths, bed rails and nappy disposable units, these differ with each cruise line. Everything seems covered when taking your baby on board.

The facilities differ depending on the cruise line offering soft play arts and crafts and interactive playgroup sessions. The Pools can often be an issue for the younger babies as they often need for the baby to be potty trained and no nappies or swim pants allowed in most.
