All things strictly

Many of you who read my blog know I am a fan of Strictly Come Dancing, and this week saw P&O Cruises announce which dancers and judges would be on board the selected themed cruise sailings this year, and I was also lucky enough to have tickets to see the last show of this years live tour.

So for the P&O Strictly Cruises, there will be four strictly themed sailings and the dancers which will feature are: Joanna Clifton & Giovanni Pernice, Karen & Kevin Clifton, Janette Manrara & Aljaz Skorjanec, Ian Waite & Natalie Lowe, Pasha Kovalev & Anya Garnis.  And the judges will be either Craig Revel Horwood or Anton Du Beke.

You can read my blog about my strictly cruise here.

On the 14th February we had tickets to see the final performance of the Strictly tour at the O2 Arena. The show was set up like you see on the tv show – with the judges table (and with the judges Craig, Bruno and Len), The band and also the singers from the show.  We had 7 couples competing in the show and they both performed twice. The couples were:

Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton, Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice, Helen George and Aljaz Skorjanec, Ainsley Harriott and Karen Clifton, Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani, Anita Rani and Gleb Savchenko,Jake Wood and Janette Manrara.

The show was presented by Mel Giedroyc (who is one of the British Bake off Judges) and brought much humour to the evening.

Like the show each couple danced and then were judged and scored by the judges, however their points did not count towards the final result as we were given numbers to text in and vote for our winner. Then at the end of the show they announce who the winner is and then they lift the glitterball trophy. On our show the winners were Jay and Aliona.

stricty

The show went on for just over an hour each half, but even my partner who isn’t the biggest strictly fan agreed the evening had gone quick and has said that next year we might be able to go again and watch the tour.

If you are a strictly fan and would like to be on one of the themed cruises then the dates and cruises are as follows:

Ventura N611, 22 April – 6 May

Britannia B614, 16 May – 29 May

Britannia B616, 5 June – 18 June

Azura A619, 22 July – 5 August

Hope you all have a good couple of weeks

Kerry

xx
