Looking forward to experiencing a bigger one!

As a cruise-virgin, I was quite happy for my first encounter to be with the small-yet-perfectly-formed Marco Polo, however I must admit that with my newfound appetite for cruising, I am very much looking forward to my date in May with a much larger ship!

At the end of May this year, I am lucky enough to be attending a ship visit to sample the delights of the Crown Princess…

At 951ft long, this ship is significantly longer than the 578.4ft Marco Polo; and with a height of 195ft the Crown Princess elegantly showcases her 113,000 gross tonnage with style.

Ship visits are a wonderful opportunity to get a taste for cruising and to sample the delights of new ships before taking the plunge…

…and with so many UK ports now welcoming cruise lines from all over the world, there are plenty of opportunities to test-drive the cruising lifestyle closer to home with a ship visit or a taster cruise from a variety of UK departure ports.

I am particularly excited about this date in my diary as Princess are holding a Family Day, which means that my children and hubby will be attending along with me and able to experience all that the Crown Princess has to offer.

This princess made her debut in 2006 and enjoyed a full makeover in April 2018, meaning her crown is sparkling like new as she boasts upgrades such as luxury beds in all cabins, an upgraded spa and brand new dining venues.

As a Crown-class ship, the Crown Princess features some mega-ship facilities such as vibrant kids club amenities, a casino and a 300 sq ft poolside theatre, as well as relaxing areas like the on board library, quiet lounges and the adults-only Sanctuary area.

In terms of dining options, cruisers are spoilt for choice with 13 dining venues; 3 formal dining rooms, a taste of Italy at Sabatini’s, seafood at the Crab Shack, burgers & pub fayre at The Salty Dog Gastropub, as  well as a poolside pizzeria and various snack options.

Whilst my first foray aboard the Crown Princess will be whilst she is docked in port at Liverpool,  the Crown Princess will continue to cruise the Caribbean and Europe throughout 2019 & 2020 from ports such as Southampton, Dublin, Rome, Barcelona, Fort Lauderdale and many more…

For more information on upcoming sailings with the Crown Princess and the Princess fleet, give me a call on 0330 041 7390; and for a personal review of my upcoming ship visit be sure to check back here on my blog, as well as on my Facebook page ‘Katrina And The Waves’…

Best wishes

Katrina 🙂
