My Future Self

time

I have often wondered how it would feel to be in the later part of my life. Parents used to say have fun now whilst your young because it goes so quickly.

Well that got me thinking what would my future self say to me?
How would my future self see the decisions I am making now?
Would he be proud. Would he be regretful?
Would he thank me for the decisions I am making now for us both?

Lots of deep questions I know but hay that’s me.
One of my online mentors is a chap named Gary Vaynerchuk; He famously said. If you want to make a decision that feels right for you now and gives you perspective go and visit a retirement home.

Ask the older folks some questions and you will see a common theme… Regret.
Often people don’t reflect on the good decisions people make, In times of reflection people seem to dwell on the mistakes, the wrong move and crucially the missed time.
And time is the subject I want to talk about today, so many of us live life as though we have unlimited time.

Truth.

We don’t

I speak to a lot of people everyday that in all honesty are aged between 65 and 80 years of age. These customers know that life can be short and they certainly don’t allow life to pass them by.

It got me thinking about bucket list holidays…

Why do we wait until we are of a certain age to go on the most incredible holidays. It’s not just because of money. It comes down to routine, playing it safe, and living life like we will live forever.

How do we put a price on seeing the Northern Lights from an iglu, Seeing wild polar bears in Alaska, or visiting the Snow Monkeys in Kobe Japan.

I personally would rather visit these places sooner rather than later.

So whenever you next take a look in the mirror have a discussion with yourself about taking a bucket list holiday vs playing it safe.

If the adventurous part of you wins then you just might want to grab the bull by the horns and take a look at our bucket list brochure. Yes there is always tomorrow but it might not be as fun as today.

Be interested to hear your thoughts.
