Drop Dead Fred

“Life’s too short not to use your imagination”

Bucket-List

I spoke to a customer this week who has inspired me in ways beyond belief.

His name is Fred and he always books his cruises on Fred Olsen, something we joked about at the time “Fred on Fred”. He is as he puts it “In The final showdown of life” and wants to do something he has never done before in his 40 years of cruising.

He said, “Jamie when you get to my age there is nothing worse than having regrets, so whilst I can still do something about it I am going to do something crazy and irrational and rely on my imagination to decide my next cruise”.

We laughed for a while and I wondered what he had in mind.

“Jamie I have decided to give up my usual Mediterranean Fred Olsen cruise holiday next year and embark on one of your bucket list tours.

This is something he has never done before and took him way out of his comfort zone. from our conversation it was clear there was a cruise Fred had longed to do. He wants to experience some of The wonders of the world and plans to start with sailing the Panama Canal with Princess Cruise-lines in February 2017.

When we launched our Bucket List holidays we imagined our cruise customer avatar. After much market research we had a customer in mind who wanted to try something entirely different. Experience a little pocket of the world in a way that you can’t anywhere else, To see things you will never have seen before and for some people will never see again.

Our whole ethos on these trips are a trip of a lifetime. A place to create memories and moments so precious you will remember them forever.

I personally  admire Fred’s determination to try new things and experience life without limits, even though he admitted being a little nervous about change.

If Fred can do it…

Whats stopping you?

life really is too short and I for one will not be leaving with any regrets.

Thanks Fred. I cant wait to hear all about your cruise of a lifetime.
