Dreamliner More like a Nightmare for Boeing

Last week saw the very sad news a second Boeing 737 Max Aircraft crashed and tragically killed 157 souls on board. This is the second fatal crash in the past 5 months following the Infamous Lion Air 610 Flight in Indonesia on 29th October which killed all 189 Passengers when the plane crashed 12 minutes after take off and crashed in the Java Sea.

Understandably this has caused a huge knock on effect across the globe with Australia, China, India, Singapore, Ethiopia, France, Ireland, Germany, Australia Indonesia and Malaysia all grounding the aircraft.

In The UK in the midst of a No Deal Brexit TUI and Norwegian could ill afford this type of disruption and uncertainty surrounding one of their main aircraft’s.

According to BBC Business (source) more than £23 billion has been wiped off the Boeing value since the close of business on Friday last week.

In The US alone South West Airlines have the largest number of the aircraft in operation with 34 Aircraft. They are currently offering their booked customers the opportunity to change their travel plans free of charge. Their rivals AA American Airlines however are quoting standard terms and conditions for changes to holidays.

Senator Elizabeth Warren who is running to be the Democrats Presidential candidate is ordering the FAA to “get these planes out of the sky”

Across the Globe the airline industry has come to rely on Boeing and they have only just delivered the first batch of this Aircraft’s with so many more on order.

Air Canada, American Airlines and |China Southern have a fleet of 24 with a further 18 for Norwegian Air.

The US Federal Aviation Authority is still maintaining its refusal to Ground the Aircraft instead Tweeting that there is no evidence to suggest the aircraft is unsafe. See the official Statement below dated 12th March. There is now mounting pressure from Unions and Senators to Ground the Aircraft’s.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. I personally think its the share value of money concerned that has forced the decision to not ground this aircraft until further checks are made.

Safety to life should be much more important than risking an aircraft that is responsible for 346 Lives over the past 5 Months.

Come on Boeing make the right decision and ground your own Aircraft.
