Meet the “Nieuw” ship on the block

Rock on – Nieuw Statendam

Sister ship to the beautiful Koningsdam which launched back in May 2016, these ships are perfectly sized and appointed and breath the luxury of which Holland America have become well known for. Nieuw Statendam is the second ship to be launched in this Pinnacle-class and combines all of Holland America’s classic style along with new enhancements in beautifully grand and light filled spaces along with beautifully inspired interiors of fluid curves of musical instruments.

Continuing along this theme a wonderful cruise deserves a great soundtrack, right?. The Holland America President Orlando Ashford aims for all ships within the fleet to own the live music space!

New to the Pinnacle class is the “Rock Room”  which features a live rock band, for those who prefer a more sedate experience and enjoy the Classical scene, Holland America are introducing Classical Strings which is inspired by New Yorks very own Lincoln Centre. I have had the pleasure to experience this whilst in the big apple a couple of years ago, amazing, if you get the opportunity go!!  Now you can experience this magical sound from the luxury of a Holland America ship down at the “Music Walk” bar where you can sample this magical music along with your favourite tipple.

How many of you have watched BBC Earth and Planet Earth 2? these beautifully created documentaries are now available on board along side a live concert set to footage from these amazing programmes. board.

With all new ships comes new enhancements, new ideas and new technology especially in the cabin department. The all important dining experience, these range from the elegant two-tier restaurant to “Rudi’s Sel de mer”, the Pinnacle Grill or the Pan Asian Tamarind with al-fresco terrace and featuring Nami Sushi or the more informal choice at Lido Marketplace, Canaletto or the New York pizza and Deli.
