Anthem of the Seas Q&A

Only 24 hours until the Maiden Voyage and with 80,000 of  British Holidaymakers set to sail on Anthem of The Seas this summer you can imagine as an Agent I have been inundated with questions. When a ship and concept is new you can expect changes and teething problems but rest assured if you have booked on Anthem then you really are in for the most amazing cruising experience ! I have sailed on Quantum and as Anthem’s sister ship I have to say I loved my time on her. Therefore I wanted to put together a Question and Answer session together on here for all the  questions I have been asked followed by all the answers I have given. These are real questions by real customers,  So whether you are new to cruise or a serial cruiser then this may help.

Quantum of the Seas North Star

Q. Can drinks packages be purchased for Anthem’s short break cruises 3/4 nights? I am sailing on the 30th April for 3 nights!

A. Yes they can either be purchased from your cruise planner or purchased on board.

Q. I have the Select Drinks Package included in the cost of my cruise, can I upgrade to the Premium package and if so how much will it be?

A. Yes you can upgrade either from your cruise planner or once on board and the cost is approx £10 per day

Q. Are there tea and coffee making facilities in your cabin?

A, Yes

Q. Can you use the Royal IQ App on Anthem

A. Yes you can , download the App first which is FREE as this is what you use to track your luggage delivery and see your restaurant and entertainment bookings. You shouldn’t need to purchase the internet package to access the Royal IQ App. Just turn off data roaming but keep the wifi option on . You can then connect to the wireless ( SSID is Royal Wifi) on board for free. This is their intranet not internet which is important to know. The App will not work until you are on the ship or Quayside. I guess we should know if anything different with the first paying guests on board tomorrow.

Q. How much is WIFI on board

A. Approx $10 per day ( although this could change)

Q. If tipping staff on board what currencies can I use?

A. You can use Stirling, Dollars or Euros

Q. Is Devinly Decadence A La Carte or Complimentary

A. Royal have just announced that Devinly Decadence will be A La Carte where you will pay per item according to the prices on the Menu , Jamie Oliver’s restaurant is now  A La Carte as is Izumi.

Q. Can balcony dividers be opened if families have adjoining rooms

A. Yes, just request this to happen when you check in

Q. Are children allowed in the Solarium

A. No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the Solarium

Q. Are adapters on board needed

A. Yes, as on all Royal Caribbean ships they have European and Usa plugs so you will need an adaptor

Q. Are there formal nights on board.

A. No, no formal nights but there is a Formal Restaurant called The Grande, so if you eat in there then you will be asked to dress formally. The dress code everywhere else is Smart Casual.

I hope these questions and answers will help and if I am asked anymore then I will add to this blog so save it and keep looking. I have family and friends on the Maiden Voyage who will be updating me on all the great things they are experiencing. I will add more answers  to questions on here as I receive them.

So for now Happy Cruising

Holly x
