Oceania Cruises….definitely 6 star in my opinion!

I’ve recently been lucky enough to cruise onboard Oceania Riviera for a 5 night cruise from Venice to Corfu, calling at Koper in Slovenia, Dubrovnik in Croatia and Kotor in Montenegro.  Having never been on an Oceania ship I was very excited to experience what we at cruise.co rate as a 6 star cruiseline………and I wasn’t disappointed.

Firstly the cabin, I was allocated a B2 verandah stateroom and have to say it was immaculate.  Plenty of storage space and compared to most other ships a sizeable bathroom with bath and a seperate shower cubicle.

Next my favourite bit of cruising, the food !    Oceania claim to have the ‘Finest cuisine at sea’.  I simply have to agree with this, it was outstanding.  You have the option of the Grand Dining room where no reservation is required or 4 speciality restaurants at no extra cost but these can get busy so it is advisable to book a few days ahead or before you travel.  I dined at the restaurants shown below and would thoroughly recommend them all.

Red Ginger  :  Bold, contemporary Asian cuisine

The Polo Grill  :  Classic steakhouse

Jacques  :  French cuisine

The Grand Dining room :  mixture

There is as on most ships a buffet option, this can found at the Terrace Café, again this is of the highest quality with an expansive menu of international dishes.   Also open for lunch.

My favourite for lunch was the Waves Grill,  where your burgers are cooked to order, and the seafood is spectacular.
