A laughing matter?

Last week my wife and I were lucky enough to be in the audience of the few who got tickets to see Lee Evans in the Glee Club in Cardiff.
Lee was doing a select few special shows so he could try out his new material ahead of his forthcoming MONSTERS Arena Tour. As a huge Lee Evans Fan, I was thrilled to get tickets and be just 4 feet from one of my comic idols. Now there’s funny …then there’s Lee Evans funny, which is when you are laughing-so-hard-you-can-barely-breathe funny. Now I have seen a few comics and stand ups on cruise ships in my time, actually they werent too bad.  I know Carnival cruise lines have The Punchliner Comedy Club across their whole fleet, they have teamed up with renowned comedian and TV personality George Lopez.
Located in the ship’s aft lounge, each Punchliner Comedy Club will offer guests loads of laughs with five 35-minute shows on multiple nights during each voyage, with at least two comedians performing each night. The two early-evening shows offer fun for the whole family while the later performances will feature adult-oriented comedy.  The Comedy Clubs will feature hilarious, laugh-out-loud performances from established comedians as well as rising stars, with approximately 10 shows per voyage offered on short cruise itineraries and approximately 20 shows per cruise on longer length departures.

Royal Caribbean is another cruise line with a great reputation for comedy on board.  Comedy LIVE brings the laughs to the Oasis of the Seas. For many years Royal Caribbean International has always had a Headliner Comedian that performed the “Welcome Aboard Show” and a late night show in the Main Theater. With Oasis, the decision was made to create an intimate comedy club that would feature a comedy host as well as two headliner comedians.

Celebrity cruises are another great choice but not with the kids – They have the late night Sin City show. Sin City is the hilarious show which features comedians who have appeared on network and cable TV shows, plus seductive dancers in a choreographed production of music and fun, you must be 18 to attend.
