Feeling Festive!

It is that time of year where I am getting ready to take a bit of time off work and spend with my family.  I am lucky to have a few weeks off work and have quite a bit planned.  Last week we took Poppy on the Polar Express Train ride in Telford.  It was so magical and Poppy loved it.  The whole thing was so well organised and Poppy was excited to see Santa.  The experience was so like the film and we waited on the platform for the train to arrive.  On board the train we had the dancing waiters and enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies.  Santa came on board to speak to everyone and Poppy had her ticket signed by him. He then handed out the silver bell the first gift of Christmas which was so magical.  On the ride back we all joined in with Christmas songs until we arrived back at the station.  I definitely want to take her again next year!

It has now got me in festive spirits and having our Christmas decorations up at home too really has that Christmas feel.  This is our second Christmas with Poppy and although she is still young she really is starting to understand what it is all about.  She loves opening her advent calendar every day and especially likes getting a chocolate.  Later this week we have a Christmas party she is going to all dressed up and then off to see Santa at a local Garden Centre with real reindeer.  I will be away for a few nights on our Christmas conference with work and then when we are back we want to try and take Poppy somewhere else to see Santa.  Christmas will be a special time again for us and is always spent with the family.
