Family Cruise Part 2

This post will talk about the entertainment and children’s facilities on board the Navigator of the Seas.  We knew in advance that our daughter wasn’t old enough for the children’s club on board the ship as this starts at 3.  They do have a nursery facility but we didn’t want to leave Poppy as she doesn’t attend nursery etc at home.  We did go and have a look on the first day and the staff were very friendly.  They asked if we would like to borrow on of their toy packs for Poppy to use in our cabin.

They had a folder of different packages of toys they offer and we chose one and just had to sign for it.  It was a bag of about 8 different things for her to play with in the cabin.  As we didn’t want to leave her they did have a room set up where families could go as open play.  This was a room of different toys etc.  We did spend quite a bit of time here as Poppy was too young to use the other facilities on the ship so this kept her entertained.  There was also an arcade where you could win rubber ducks and it was a prize every time from the grabber machine.  She loved this as we came home with quite a few ducks!  The evening entertainment on board was to a good standard.  We enjoyed a Take That tribute act which were brilliant.  Roy Walker was on board and he did a show and also Jack Pack who had been on Britain’s Got Talent.  The singers and dancers also did a few shows.  The highlight for me was the Ice Show.  It was nice to go and see something different and the ice skaters were very talented.  There was also lots of entertainment throughout the ship.

We liked the Star Lounge as there was normally Karaoke or other games shows happening in here.  I did find it was always quite hard to get a seat anywhere day and night but we did still enjoy what was offered on the ship.  Overall we did enjoy the cruise as we loved to see Poppy’s face but it really wasn’t quite what we had expected with our itinerary.
