Why Norway Is A Brilliant All Rounder

When it comes to either choosing your first ever cruise destination, or if you’ve been everywhere and just want a quick week away, I’m a firm believer that Norway is the ultimate all-rounder.

Okay most are going to pick up on the weather issues here, and perhaps the lack of sandy beaches and warm seas, but if you want to go lie on a beach somewhere, why are you cruising in the first place?

Granted there are some pretty beaches and coastal resorts out there, but ultimately, sand is sand, and sea is sea.

What I love about cruising to Norway is that it gives you the ‘true cruise experience’.

Amazing scenary, interesting destinations, friendly people, and some great cities to enjoy.

It’s another world really away from the UK.

And the weather isn’t that bad. Not much worse than ours in the south of the country during the sprinig and summer months, so you could get yourself that suntan as well!

What’s more is it’s so easy to reach, you jump aboard in Southampton, and within 48 hours you can be waking up to a view of a stunning coastline, or even a Norwegian Fjord, one of natures greatest gifts to photography.

There are no restrictions on ship size either, so you can pick up a floating resort such as P&O Iona next year, one of the best ships to grace our shores from 2020, or if you want the more adventurous type of ship, why not take a short flight to Bergen and pick up a Hurtigruten ice breaker, and really immerse yourself in Norways rugged terrain and challenging icy landscape.

Either way, on a cruise ship, you’re going to be well looked after.

The best part of these trips to Norway, is the price.

To sail from the UK you can pick up some absolute bargains from as little as £600-£700pp for a week, sometimes even cheaper! So even if it’s not your main holiday, you can go and breath in some staggering Nordic air, and feel like a luxury Viking for a week!

What’s not to love about Norway really?

So if you’re reading this, twiddling your thumbs wanting to get away and aren’t sure where to go, think Norway, think Fjords, think value, think Freddie!

Thanks for reading and as always, until next time………
