What to do with your dirty washing ?

Do you like to visit the Launderette whilst you are on the ship ? Apparently it is a great place for getting all the gossip !!  However not all cruise ships do offer a self-serve laundry facility.   Or, like me, do you look at your cruise holiday as your time to relax away from the home chores including the washing & ironing…

The inspiration for my blog this week has actually been taken from a customer adding an extra to their reservation that I wonder if many of you know about…

MSC Cruises offer pre-bookable Laundry Packages.. with options for 10, 20 or 40 items of clothing to be laundered for you for a set cabin charge.  The example I have is for this booking for 40 items of laundry at £ 41.00.  Just think of the joy of coming home from your holiday with nearly all your laundry already done, or the other benefit to this is that on a longer cruise you don’t have the worry of having to pack so much as can get done as you go along..  With generally clothing returned done the following day to be handed in to your cabin steward.  There are certain restrictions to this – not dry clean only items etc – but overall I think this is a fantastic idea.  Many other cruise lines do offer an on board laundry service too, so this may be something that you want to look at ahead of your next cruise.

This would also be a great option for people taking a cruise and then continuing on a tour for example that would not constitute the use of the same clothing they have had for the cruise.

I must admit that I did a 2 week cruise with Princess Cruises, and as an Elite loyalty status member, I received FREE laundry service on board – it was wonderful to come home and literally, all except for a few items, unpack my suitcase straight back in to the wardrobe.
