Time for your opinion..

Hello, and welcome to 2017… as everyone is busy booking their 2017 & 2018 Cruise holidays, now is a fantastic time to reflect on your 2016 (or most recent) cruise and this is now the time to give us your opinion…

Like the FIFA Player of the year, National Television Awards and Sports Personality of the year, here at Cruise.co.uk we are running our own “People’s Choice” awards. These awards are unlike anything else I have seen in all my time in the travel industry (25+ years..), it is not just a vote based on your “Favourite Cruise Line” or “Favourite Itinerary” our team have come up with some of the most creative categories possible to really get inside your thoughts.

With many new ships launched over the recent years there is strong competition in many of these categories – and with each new ship brings many new innovations take the Harmony of the Seas which launched last year with it’s huge slides adorning the rear of the ship.  The high tech Ovation of the Seas with it’s robotic bar and the amazing North Star, to the most luxurious ship ever built – Regent Seven Seas Explorer – hosting  a 2917 square foot Suite which includes complimentary in-suite massages and has a staggering 958 square foot wraparound balcony…

So taking a quick look at the survey the categories included are:

• * Best Poolside Area
• * Best for Tech
• * Most Glamorous Ship

My favourite category of this survey has to be – “Best Towel Animal”,,,  I have very fond memories of my very first cruise experience, over 20 years ago, and this was where I first discovered this happens.  Each night as I returned to my cabin to retire from the evenings celebrations, I eagerly anticipated the creation that would appear made from towels and nightwear to adorn my stateroom bed.  Sadly, I can not find any photos of my own cabin towel creations, I must remember to take some on my next cruise, but here are a couple that a customer of mine has allowed me to share from their recent cruise where the cabin steward even incorporated their 11 year old son’s clothing and swimwear.. not all animals but you get the idea..
