Yes, this is no “ordinary” passenger, this is your beloved pet that you cannot bear to leave behind.. As last Friday saw the take your dog to work day, with many of our consultants here at Cruise.co.uk having the luxury of working from home, it made me think more about those that can not be parted from their prize pets.

Cunard, have offered a kennels service for quite a while now but following the recent refit to the Queen Mary 2 this service has been expanded.  The kennels are only open on Transatlantic voyages sailing between Southampton or Hamburg and New York.  The service is available for both dogs & cats (no birds..)

With kennel costs starting from $ 800 each way for dogs (double for cats as require 2 kennels – one for the litter box!!), it is probably not an option that is cheaper than placing your pet in local kennels – obviously depending upon how long you are going away for.  The paperwork required is nearly as lengthy, if not more so, than the standard ESTA human passenger form for entry to the USA but your beloved pet will be truly looked after on board.

Your pet is provided with a beautiful fleece blanket, dog bowl, selection of premium food and dog biscuits…  The owners lounge area has also been enhanced, there is a new inside play area and an extended outside walking area adjacent to the kennels on deck 12, where you are free to exercise your dog at any of the 4 visiting sessions per day.

Just like you will be looked after by the amazing Cunard crew on board the Queen Mary – The Kennel Master will certainly ensure the best of holiday for your pet.

We have some amazing prices, for the passenger cabins, on the Queen Mary for transatlantic sailings, please follow this link for more details of this stunning ship. Transatlantic Sailing details

Do let me know in the comments below if this is a service you have used, or would consider using..
