Cunard cancel 2 sailings.

Unfortunately from time to time the cruise liners are forced to cancel sailings because the ship needs essential maintenance.

In this case Cunard have had to cancel 2 sailings on board the Queen Victoria, the 12 night sailing to the Canary Islands on the 3rd January 2015 and the following 5 night cruise from the 15th January 2015 to Amsterdam.

The reason behind the cancellations is that a bearing needs to be replaced on one of the vessels azipod propulsion units.

The work was due to take place but not until December 2015, but the decision was made to bring the work forward to January 2015 before the ship sails of on her world cruise. Which i personally think is a wise idea, If I was sailing of on a world cruise I would like to know everything is up to scratch mechanically before setting off!

Whilst in dry dock the ship will also have a few more bits and bobs added, included 9 more single cabins, flat screen TVs added in each cabin, a sun awning over the Lido pool, the shops will be extended as well as cleaning the engines exhaust.

Cunard have offered passengers already booked a £100 discount of a future cruise.

Were you booked on one of the cancelled sailings, how do you feel?

Or are you booked onto the world cruise, are you happy the world is taking place before the long sailing?
