A relaxing week away!

My husband and I decided to squeeze 1 more holiday in before our baby boy arrives and headed off for a week of sunshine in Lanzarote! I would like to say it was a week of cocktails, dancing and late nights but it was more a holiday for relaxing around the pool, drinking juice and early nights for me!

We have been to the resort of Costa Teguise twice before so knew the area well, there are plenty of bars and restaurants, there’s always a breeze which was important to me as I didn’t want it to be too hot! And another plus is the resort is only 10 minutes from the airport, bonus!

We stayed self catering in a really quaint complex, it was like having our own villa because we were the only ones who used the pool! Many of the rooms had their own large terrace areas with sunbeds so most guests were happy to stay on their private terrace but we preferred to head out and sunbath around the pool area.

Lanzarote with the bump!

We do love nice food, and tend to steer clear of the British pubs whilst we are away. We found a fantastic Italian restaurant ( I know, we were in Spain!) called Divina Italia, the food was a la carte standard and we ended up eating here 3 nights out of 7, so if you are looking for a great restaurant in costa teguise make sure you give Divina Italia a try! The food was definitely comparable to cruise cuisine!

We were looking out for the cruise liners as you can see where they dock from this resort but we never spotted any , it was a little early for Canary Islands itinerary’s as most of the cruise liners start sailing to this area from mid October onwards as the weather is so much better than the Mediterranean, During the winter months you can expect temperatures to still be in the early to mid twenty’s and the Canary Islands offer what I would call ‘easy’ ports of call. from most of the islands ports you can walk into the nearest town or head to the beach for the day, or even a waterpark!

Baby Broad definitley enjoyed his week away and was kicking and moving around lots! I am looking forward to hopefully experiencing cruising with an Infant for one of my next holidays as I now have a little wait until I can head of again!
