It’s the most wonderful time of the year….

So I begin my blog with, there’s only 13 sleeps until Christmas. For those of you that have little one’s this is the best way to explain how long it is until a big event is about to happen. It’s my most favourite time of the year, and worryingly it really doesn’t feel like 10 minutes ago that I was putting the tree back into the loft.  I don’t know if it is working with dates but the years are certainly flying by.

I have a busy couple of weeks leading up until the big day, and the one that I am really looking forward to is the companies annual conference on board Fred Olsen’s Balmoral. It’s a great way to experience the ship first hand by spending a few nights on board. Fred Olsen is a company that we have plenty of dealings with so I’m looking forward to seeing the cabins, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Watch this space for photos and conference gossip on my return. I am also looking forward to meeting my co workers face to face. As the majority of us work from home we only get to speak to each other and that isn’t very often either.

I would like to say that I am overly organised, everything is wrapped, all the cards are written but unfortunately I am not. I never understand when people say they are done and dusted by October. Part of the festivities for me is shopping and wrapping my presents to the cheesy Christmas music. This got me thinking to what everyone’s favourite Christmas tune is and mine, which I don’t expect everyone to like is good old East Seventeen Stay Another Day. When I see the video and hear the tune it starts to feel a bit like Christmas.

Sshhhh. Santa stands outside in the falling snow with his finger to his lips, telling you to be quiet and keep his secret.

Then there is the annual Panto which I think me and my husband look more forward to it more than the children. This year it is Snow White with Warwick Davis. This we have booked for Christmas Eve as I find this to be a peculiar day, it really drags and can be a bit boring, probably all the waiting around for the big day.

So whatever you get up to over the festive period be safe and be merry.

Merry Christmas

Emily
