Cubans Seen hanging onto dingy by Disney Fantasia

I recently read an article about Cuban immigrants found hanging on the side of a small boat and was spotted by Disney Fantasia as it was sailing not far from Varadero. It turns out the two men and one female were in fact coming from Florida and not the other way around which is usually what happens. They were in a small dingy and the American coastguard waited for them by the cruise ship to arrive. It turns out they were wanted for criminal activity.

This got me thinking to all the migrants we see nearly every day risking their lives coming over to Greece. I find the whole thing upsetting that these people have to leave their countries in search of a better life and at the same time putting themselves through unspeakable conditions. It just goes to show how desperate they are. I wish they didn’t have to leave and that things were more settled where they are from as it has been putting a lot of people off travelling to some of the islands of Greece. I’m not sure how it is going to get sorted, but something seriously needs to be done. I think how fortunate I am to live where I do and not have half the worries these people have.
