SeaDream to launch first new build in nearly two decades

SeaDream, known well to some, complete strangers to others . Small, luxury ships with unique and exciting itineraries.

Well, they are adding a third vessel to their fleet – the company’s first new ship for 18 years.

SeaDream Innovation will sail her Maiden Voyage from London on September 18, 2021.

It will sail to every continent on the Planet in its first year, visiting more than 200 ports across 49 countries.

Destinations include the Northwest Passage, Antarctica, the Norwegian Fjords, Japan, and New Zealand.

It is the first time since SeaDream were founded in 2001 that the line has added to its fleet.

Passengers, who have previously sailed on the line’s two other vessels – SeaDream I and SeaDream II – can now reserve one of the 110 ocean view suites.

Reservations will open to the public on April 17, 2019.

Damen Shipyard in Mangalia, Romania, will start building the ship in October this year.

Atle Brynestad, SeaDream’s owner, said: “This project has been a dream of mine for many years.

“It has been a true labour of love to meticulously design every aspect of this yacht from the interiors and facilities to the itineraries.”

I have a lot of admiration for small ships as they really do offer something different, it’s the little things like the crew, they really make an effort to get to know you and will take a keen interest in your preferences and will remember your drinks order along with your favourite bar snack, usually having it ready and waiting for the moment you step aboard.

So have you sailed with them? What are your thoughts on a ship this small?

Happy Cruising!
