Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow….

Just last week myself and my husband Jamie returned back from our 6 nights away in Chamonix Mont Blanc French Alps. We were not there for sking but we have always had a bucket list that included getting above the clouds and seeing the snow from high up in The French Alps.

We stayed at The Marriott Mont Blanc right at the Heart of The Chamonix Valley. It was a very Alpine Lodge style retreat with the most incredible sweeping view across Mont Blanc and Aguill du Midi, two of the largest mountains in Europe.

Aguille du midi’s peak is 3,850 meters high with Mont Blanc a further 1,000 meters. It was the most incredible view with frost on the ground and thick snow up high at Altitude.

If you stay in the Valley of Chamonix you can get travel on the train and bus travel in Chamonix Argentiere for free.

Argentiere is set over 1500 meters altitude so on our train ride we were blessed with the most snow we have ever seen. Needless to say we got to experience the Alps in full winter snow filled conditions.

There were two highlights of our trip. We had a roof top spa with the snow falling down on us under the sun going down from in between the mountains.

Our finest day was our train journey to Montervers where we got to an altitude of 2,000 meters and got to experience the view from high up above Chamonix. It was the most incredible sunny day without a cloud in the sky. Thick fresh snow on the ground. We had a Rum hot chocolate at the hotel and a spot of breakfast in the cafe overlooking the mountains. This place will retain a spot in my heart forever.

Just check out these photos.

Have you ever been to Chamonix? I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences…
