Baby Onboard!!

So, the baby is finally here!! Welcome to the world Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge!!! It’s very exciting stuff and has taken the world by storm, on every TV channel, front of every news paper and all magazine covers and they are all filled with photos of the couple leaving the hospital steps with their little bundle of joy.

All this chat about
babies had me thinking on the suitability of cruising for these new families and which ship offers the best facilities for these new families.

To cruise or not to cruise??? This is the question I have been asked many a time SO after careful investigation, and a lot of googling I have decided the answer is definately YES!!!

With many cruise lines accepting children from 6 months old    (3 months with MSC Cruises) it is becoming a more and more acceptable holiday for fledgling families. Selected Cruiselines are now providing baby food or blending standard food if required so dining should never be a dilemma. P&O now offer baby milk and jars of baby food can also be provided though particular brands cannot be guaranteed. Just think how much of your luggage will not have to be dedicated to bringing food for your little munchkin.

All the major Cruise companies provide highchairs and cots, though you do need to request these as soon as you can as there are limted numbers on board. Carnival cruises are going that extra mile and you can actually pre-hire buggies and bouncy chairs for around $25 a week or $6 a day on selected sailings so no more struggling through airports with buggies and bits and bobs.

Worried about missing out on your romantic dinners on board??? Well worry no more!! We all know how important alone time is for new parents or those who have lovely, but boisterous toddlers. Cruise companies have listened to past passengers and realised that providing baby sitting, even as a group, could be the swaying point for booking one cruiseline over another. Cunard offer a fantastic FREE service, where families can avail of group baby sitting from 6pm until midnight which is staffed by british nannies. This gives parents the chance of relaxing at dinner without worrying about their evening being interupted by any mini loved ones. It gives them the chance to eat, have a wee tipple and a bit of a dance to get in the holiday vibe!

So from all that is on offer, cruising really is the BEST option for a hassle free holiday with your mini ones and you will probably find if you try it you will never consider another type of holiday again!
