The Cruise with Princess

I must admit I love watching the Cruise with Princess on ITV everytime a new series comes on. It is so informative even for me to watch and I have been working in the travel industry for 15 years now. I love how it shows the cruise from both the customers, the crew and what goes on behind the scene.

Just recently, I watched an episode where the new Majestic Princess sailed out from Sydney Australia making her way to New Zealand and cruising through New Zealand’s Fjords known for its towering peaks and rainforests. Milford Sound & Bowen Falls have some of the most breathtaking views of the fjords along with some of the most natural waterfalls from the rain all year round. One day, once I have saved some pennies I will be doing this itinerary and in the hope, the weather would hold up making it through the Fjords.

The episode also showed us the amount of food that has to be collected from Sydney before the cruise departs which is, by all means, no surprise in its hundreds or thousands of kilos. At the same time as the food is delivered it also showed us how the guest luggage is boarded before it’s taken to their stateroom. And it was really surprising to see it was just one pallet truck being used to get this all onboard so you can imagine the difficulty if this stops working, ie delayed baggage. However, on this occasion, all the baggage made it to the guest staterooms.

I was really surprised to see the job role that I have never thought about, the videographer. A small team that stealthily move around the ship taking video’s of the ship and what she has to offer. They also work very hard behind the scenes with the onboard video camera’s collating video’s for the onboard shop to sell as a souvenir.

So the show is very factual and informative for both customers and agents that work in the industry. If you have not cruised before, then why not get in contact with me directly to discuss a potential cruise holiday with some of the best cruises available.
