Full Board or All Inclusive

So over the years we have seen a lot of cruise lines either going All Inclusive or offering an All Inclusive drinks package which seems to be helping ease the pain of being given a whopping bill at the end of your cruise.

Over the last 11 years, I have done 9 cruises and each time with a different cruise line as I would like to try many of them before returning. Out of those 3 cruises 2 have been All Inclusive either by the cruise line or me paying for the package to be added.

In all honesty, I prefer to have the All Inclusive drinks package with the cruise as it saves time and effort of worrying about the cost of drinks. I’m not a skinflint and I like to enjoy my cruise to the best of my ability so not having to worry about drink prices and extras is one less thing for both me and my Husband not to worry about.

It seems to become ever so much more popular now for cruise lines to promote a free All Inclusive drinks package within the overall cost which is great. However, I say this as a polite warning about free All Inclusive drinks packages as it could mean that the typical beer you may want to drink, or the type of wine on offer or even the brand of spirits within the package that is on offer may not be up to your usual standards. As I hope most customers would understand that some of these All Inclusive drinks package consist of either local brands and some brands that you may not have even heard of before.

Personally for me, Royal Caribbean had to be one of the best All Inclusive drinks packages with unlimited drinks up to the value of $15 per drink. I found it very hard to find a drink that didn’t cater to me.  And another cruise line that includes complimentary All Inclusive drinks is Azamara Club Cruises. Again they offer a standard complimentary beverage list of beers, wines and spirits along with non-alcoholic drinks which there was plenty of choices to choose from and even the house wines tasted great.

They also offer a premium beverage menu which as you can imagine would have to pay a lot more to have these, but again there was so much choice on the complimentary menu I didn’t even feel the need to look at the premium menu.

All cruise lines can differ with their packages and what they offer so it is always worthwhile having a look directly on the cruise website to check what the package offers and consists of.
