Where is my child!!

This is something most parents on a cruise holiday have said and often more than once.

We all worry about our kids but when you are on a moving ship and the kids have gone off to play in the kids clubs or with friends and you suddenly can’t see them then a little bit of panic starts to set in.
Where to look though, these ships are massive and some are over 1000ft long and 18 decks high plus you may pass them if you go up in the lifts, kids wont worry about you looking for them as they are having a fine old time so what do you do.

Well on the MSC Seaside you won’t have to worry at all as they have a new technology on the ship called MSC for me which should be up and running in a few weeks with the new tracker, a couple of the bigger ships have the app but not the tracker yet.

The functionality will allow parents to locate their kids (from about ages 1 to 11) on a map of the ship as long as the kids are in a public space. There are no sensors in the cabins, so it will not tell parents if their kids are in their room.

Further down the road there may be face recognition apps that will mean that messages can be posted around the ship where that particular person is to let them know they are “missing” not good for the husband who likes to sneak off and watch the sports on tv, big brother will almost certainly be watching you.
So is this a good thing or a bad thing!!

I certainly believe as a parent myself that children should be supervised when in public areas but I am also aware about how excited they can get and as kids they do get a little carried away at times but at least on the MSC Seaside you will always know where they are.

Safe.

Mscusoon!

please feel free to comment as I am always interested in what people think.

Lastly all that remains to be said is have a wonderful New Year and a very prosperous 2018

Now where did I put that book?
