Who Else Hates Paying Through The Nose For Excursions?!

I suppose there is no quick answer to that and cruise lines vary in what they charge and also for how long you will be off the ship.

The thing about excursions is that if you book them using the ship then if there are any delays then the ship will hold on for you and that is pretty much true but there is also another company we use out there that give you a guarantee to get you back to the ship in time and not everybody knows about them or has even looked at them, this is a shame as some of their trips are really cheap, they vary as well to the cruise lines so they may have something you would like that is the same as the ships trip but cheaper or they may have something totally different that catches your eye. prices are usually very good with them and also in sterling.

They are good if there is a group of you going as well as you can price up a private tour so that it is just for yourselves, no messing around sharing with people you don’t know, they will always agree a pick up time to travel back and also a pick up point convenient to you.

I used them myself when there was a group of us on a short cruise last year, the price was cheaper than Royal Caribbean offered us for a coach transfer into Bruges from Zeebrugge and they asked us where we wanted picking up and what time, they knew what time we had to be back for but wanted us to get the most from our trip. It was a lovely Private 8 seater and it was great, the girl who was driving asked us what type of music we would like playing in the car and did we want to take in a few sights that were easier to see by car rather than the coach, with the coach we would have just been dropped off centrally but when she found out I had been before and 2 of our passengers had walking issues she took us to 2 places first that are a must see but a little far with walking difficulties and after that she dropped us off in the center. She even suggested a couple of good places that were good prices for food, one was a soup bar run by 2 women and you would never have known it was there as it was hidden away down a side street by the Belfry. It was gorgeous and for 6 euros 50 we got this massive bowl of homemade soup, I had Leek and potato, you also got bread and butter, croutons and a pot of cheese to sprinkle over as well, then on the side was a little pot of fresh strawberries, they usually have 3 or four types on offer as it is only small and 100% worth every penny, if you are ever going to Bruges send me a message and i will tell you how to get there, its simple and delicious.

Of course Bruges is only a short hop to get into and if you are there for a long day then its so cheap to go on the train from the nearest town of Blankenburge, it was 5 euros return and takes 10 minutes, you must remember to get back in time though as the trains although they are only 10 mins to get there they only run every hour.

So what happens if you were going to somewhere like Rome, surely that would not be cheaper as its a long way, well yes it can be as well, there are dozens of different types of excursions on offer to Rome so do your research first and narrow it down, of course if you have been there before you may just want to go as you please, they will then drop you off somewhere central and they will have a designated pick up point, the good thing is that usually they are near one of the hop on hop off bus stops which means it is really simple to get a ticket for one of those and save on the legs, again they are fairly cheap to do as long as you keep your eye on the time for the pick up.

So if you are on a cruise within the next couple of years I would say to check them out, they are bookable a couple of years in advance and we can book them for you and add them onto your cruise. They are www.cruisingexcursions.com check them out and maybe you will save yourself some of your hard earned cash.
