Silver surfer Rest in Peace…

Normally I would write my blog about a ship or a cruise someone has been on or some interesting snippet, this time unusually I have decided to leave that and use this one to pass on some very sad news.
I wrote a blog not so long ago about a lovely lady who was 81 and how her life had changed when she met a lovely gentleman called George and I took her on a cruise for her 80th birthday surprise, I called her my silver surfer and lots of you took her into your hearts and sent me some lovely messages on facebook about her, I still get messages asking where she is off to next and what cruise she will be doing.

I have to tell you with a very heavy heart that sadly Edna passed away after a very short illness of a matter of weeks.
We are all heart broken about this as I am sure those reading this who commented will be as well.
If anything positive is to come from this then it has to be live live to the full and treat every day as if it is your last, if you want to cruise then do it, if you want to learn something new then do it, the only person stopping you is yourself.
Edna had already planned to cruise next year and to take her beloved George with her sadly that wont happen but I am going to take her with me in the shape of a lovely photo on my next cruise and take some pics of her around whatever ship it will be because I know she will be with me in spirit. I will also raise a glass to her as well

This lady touched the hearts of everyone she met

I am going to pop on a couple of comments that i had from people on here, the rest were on facebook and there were hundreds of them, took me totally by surprise.

Ednas last words to me just about a couple of  weeks or so ago when she was diagnosed with this terminal illness was Carol thank you for my cruise you made my dreams come true, I would have loved to do the one we planned for next year.

What can I say Edna you are the brightest star in the sky guiding along those beautiful cruise ships out there.

Rest in peace The Silver Surfer and may the final cruise you are going on now take you to the most wonderful destination.

Please feel free to comment as i am making a special book with photos and comments to take to her daughter Lynn, it was for Edna as she asked me to send it to her but I never got the chance to post it out in the end as everything happened so quickly.
