How the other half live…It’s a suite life

Well the time has come around really quickly from your last cruise and you are sat thinking that it is about time you planned and booked your next one, but what type of cabin do we want? I think if you can afford a balcony then sometimes there is not that much difference to upgrade to a suite, It is what I have done for next year and I only paid £59 each for this. Normally I would have been happy with the balcony but at that price well why wouldn’t I.
When you look at the little extras it can be well worth doing it for these alone.
We got 2 bottles of wine for the cabin plus a free speciality dining when we chose to book a suite plus a cabin with a huge balcony and twice the floor space, the other thing we know we have is the new sleep system beds which are being installed into the suites and above first before any of the others, we are on Sapphire Princess, I have tried one of these beds and I am looking forward to getting into one of these just to see if it does what they say.
So Suites, what makes the difference, well its a difficult question as most of the ships out there offer different things with their suites but the comfort is one factor with plush beds and furniture, upgraded bathroom products and little extras that can make all the difference.
I thought I would use Celebrity Cruises as an example here and I chose the Solstice class and a Royal suite.
Well first thing that you notice is the sheer size, at 590 Sq foot its pretty big and comes with a massive balcony with a whirpool and a proper lounge seating area, no cramped balconies here.

You have a queen size bed with one of the premium reverie dream sleep system customisable mattresses, you have a walk in wardrobe and the master bathroom has a whirlpool tub as well, you have a separate lounge and dining area as well.

Is that it I hear you say!

Well of course not you are in a suite so you also have ipod/ipad docking station,a Samsung interactive flat screen tv with multiple channels and in the bathroom a massaging shower head.

What about the service!

A personal butler on call 24/7 twice daily maid service with a turndown facility,an onboard destination concierge, the staff ratio is almost 2:1

Of course you get priority check in when boarding and of course you get priority embarkation in all ports as well as priority disembarkation, you get reserved theatre seats on evening chic nights

24 hour room service is par for the course, also an expanded room service breakfast menu, Laundry service but may incur a charge and I love this next one,Complimentary beach towel service, shoeshine service and use of golf umbrella and binoculars, I love the binoculars as you can nose at what other people are doing on the ships docked nearby, naughty but fun.

The luminae restaurant you have access to and if you want a table for 2 you can have a table for 2 here.

There are so many other things I have not mentioned like sparkling wine and fresh fruit, access to a VIP club and the exclusive Michaels club and more.

The pillow menu is great as well.

The only thing left to do is to try it out, Give me a call to price it up and you may just be pleasantly surprised and how you can see how the other half lives yourself, I bet you wont go back to a standard balcony once you have tried a suite. I know I can’t

One last thing to mention is the new Celebrity Edge class they have suites, penthouse suites and even villas and these are the most amazing things you will see, just google the ship Celebrity Edge and have a look as you won’t believe you eyes. The iconic suites are a huge 1,892 square feet and they have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleep 6, there are 2 of them on the ship and they above the bridge so the views are endless, there is even a butlers pantry for entertaining so you can show off to your new friends to your hearts content. This is one seriously cool suite, check it out.

The rest of the ship is not too shabby either.
