Want A Completely All Inclusive Cruise? Then Go Regent.

In all my years of selling cruises I haven’t yet been lucky enough to sample one of the 6 star cruise lines (but I’m working on it). I tend to think that they are usually too highly priced for my budget, but having looked in to what is included in with the price I can see they are actually very good value for money.

I have been looking in to what Regent Seven Seas have to offer and when they say all inclusive they really mean it. Here’s what’s included:

RETURN FLIGHTS, TRANSFERS & PRE-CRUISE HOTEL IF NEEDED – This includes regional airports.

UNLIMITED SHORE EXCURSIONS – You can book excursions in every port and as many as your time allows.

UNLIMITED FREE DRINKS – INCLUDING IN-SUITE BAR. The range of drinks is superb and include fine wines and premium brand drinks. If your favourite alcoholic tipple isn’t in your cabin on arrival just tell your cabin steward and hey presto…a whole bottle will arrive!

GRATUITIES – A great saving when you consider that some cruise lines charge over $20 per person per day.

GOURMET FOOD INCLUDING SPECIALITY RESTAURANTS – With up to 7 complimentary dining venues on board you’ll be spoiled for choice. Regent are famed for having some of the best chefs on board and their signature Dry-aged porterhouse steak is always something that’s talked about. Even if you choose to dine in your suite there are so many menu choices and dinner is served course by course as if you were in a restaurant – very civilised.

ALL SUITE CABINS – All accommodations are suites and 98% of the suites in the RSSC fleet have a balcony, so generally if you see a price advertised you know you’re not going to have to add on extra to upgrade to a balcony suite. And there’s even a bottle of bubbly ready for your arrival.

UNLIMITED WIFI – Another great money saver as wifi seems to be a must for most holiday-makers nowadays.

ROOM SERVICE – Some cruise lines charge for any room service and some have restricted hours where there is no charge. Not with this cruise line, it’s free 24 hour room service.

SPA ACCESS – Each ship has a world-famous Canyon Ranch Spa on board and you get complimentary access to the fitness centre, steam & sauna rooms.

The ships are not tiny, neither are they huge, but they are designed so that the suites are a really good size and there are lots of public areas to while away your time and give you a sense of spaciousness. The itineraries offered cover some of the more unusual destinations. Dress code is ‘elegant casual’ so need need to dress up if that’s not your thing.

. There are often deals to be had with Regent such as up to 30% discount and free pre or post cruise land stays, so when you take in to account all of the above yes- the prices are not ‘cheap’, but you would really need to spend very little once the cruise is paid for, so definitely excellent value for money & your cost overall may not be any more than on a standard cruise. One of Regents’ straplines is ‘leave your wallet at home’.

A colleague of mine was lucky enough to sail with Regent and says the difference is in the detail. She told me something that happened in the restaurant which shows just that. She hadn’t brought her glasses out at dinner and the waiter must have noticed her squinting at the menu. Immediately a waiter approached with what looked like a beautiful wooden cutlery box, but when he opened it it was full of spetacles of all different strengths. She took a pair to read the menu and was told to keep hold of them as long as she liked and drop them back at her convenience. Now that really is detail!
