I’ve just got back from Harmony of the Seas

So I have been one of the very few lucky ones to sail onboard Harmony of the seas this weekend, and I’m here to report back that I was absolutely blown away, and that wasn’t just by the unfortunate British weather we experienced whilst on board either.

One of the things that everyone kept saying to me about Harmony before I got onboard was the fear it was going to be just too big and too crowded. Now the ship wasn’t at full capacity so I can’t truly comment on what it’s going to be like in peak summer at full capacity, however for me the way the ship is broken down into separate areas means is doesn’t feel as colossal as I expected.

This was my first experience of an Oasis class ship and it didn’t disappoint

My top 5 areas were

Pool deck

It’s always my favorite on any ship but this was simply amazing, 4 separate pools all surrounded by loungers and because of the way Oasis is designed with central park in the middle the pool areas are further apart than most ships. My favorite was the pool designed to look like a beach area with sun loungers in the shallow waters, on a hot sunny day this would be fantastic.

Not only have RCCL looked after the big kids with the water slides but they have created the younger kids their very own mini water park with mini sun loungers and chairs alongside.

Royal Promenade

Simply stunning, with lots going on it’s not just a place with shops, restaurants and bars, on an evening this place really comes to life with bands playing to large crowds from above. Wild boyz played 2 nights in a row they were so popular the full royal promenade was packed with people singing and dancing.

Central Park

A place to eat and shop, a lovely landscape for a place to go and relax I’m sure I could nearly hear birds singing in the trees (or maybe I had had too many cocktails from the Bionic bar.)

Bionic Bar

Now I’m surprised this is on my list, I never took to this area on Anthem of the Seas it definitely feels more relaxed now it has its own area rather than just in the corridor like on Anthem and the waiting time wasn’t too bad either.

Boardwalk

A place to eat, shop and be entertained. From the first hand painted carousel at sea to watching the brave arrive at the bottom of the Abyss (the tallest slide at sea) Hotdogs and Johnny rockets and a tequila bar.

Now for my misses there’s not many just 2.

The rising tide bar

It’s actually quite small and doesn’t really go that far, there is an entertainer on board making balloons if you like that sort of thing but I wouldn’t rush back to try it out.

The Solarium

Now don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful place and in good weather would be perfect but unlike Anthem which had a fully covered area this is only partially covered and was like a wind tunnel whilst we were on board. I don’t know why it doesn’t have a retractable roof to give people a place to go when the weathers not great.

Harmony spa

Before I went on Harmony I was wondering if it could really be worth the extra cost compared to the other ships sailing in the Med this year, I know the answer and it most definitely is!

Let me know if your due to sail on Harmony this year and let me know what you think.
