Royal Caribbean – Innovators of Sea and Now Land!!

So our friends at Royal Caribbean have spent the last 20 years pushing boundaries when it comes to their fleets offerings, often building the biggest ships in the world and smashing ‘firsts’ at sea left right and centre.

Well, it appears the cruise giants are now spreading their creative flair to their land based investments. As with many cruise lines, Royal Caribbean owns a collection of private islands globally giving them and their passengers exclusive use of the island whilst in port.

The innovative improvements are being branded ‘Perfect Day Island Collection’ and Royal Caribbean fans can expect offerings in Asia, Australia as well as the Caribbean.

The 1st destination to receive a whopping $200 of investment and improvement is the company’s Bahamian is Cococay. The official name of the island is Little Stirrup Cay and is 55 miles north of Nassau. It is less than a mile across and a tiny 200 yards from north to south. The island also boasts a bustling population of 38 people, which would swell by over 10000% when an Oasis Class ship visits!!

Facilities the cruise giant are building and improving on the island are a follows;
Thrill Waterpark – Including North America’s tallest water slide!
The Galleon – A pirate ship water attraction for children of all ages to enjoy.
Splashaway Bay – A larger version of the company’s on board splash park.
Zip Line – 1600 feet!!
Wave Pool – The largest in the Caribbean.
Coco Beach Club – Think Maldives. Stilted water villas.
Captain Jacks – Snack bar.
Up up and Away – A helium balloon that takes you up higher than anything else in the Bahamas.
Oasis Lagoon. The Bahamas largest freshwater pool, complete with a swim up bar.

The works are due for completion in November 2019 and I’m certain will be a great hit with all guests young and old.
