Azamara Pursuit Refurbishment Being Done in Belfast!

Azamara has finally announced where the Pursuit will undergo her huge refurbishment to take her from the P&O Adonia to the luxury level that Azamara have come be to expected to offer. It is great news for the United Kingdom too, with the work being completed in Belfast!!

The Pursuit will become the lines 3rd ship and will join sisters, the Journey and the Quest in offering luxury all inclusive cruising, often getting into more unusual ports than the mainstream lines as the ships are smaller.

The company, which is owned by Royal Caribbean, confirmed the ship arrived safely in Belfast after coming over from the Bahamas in a 2 week crossing ready to start her transformation. There will be a whopping 800 people working on the refit and it is expected to cost over £50 million.

The refurbishment will leave no part of the ship untouched, as her sisters both underwent huge refits recently, it is going to take a huge amount of work to get her to the standards now offered on the 2 existing options.

She will differ from her 2 sisters with Azamara deciding that they would replace the casino with a lounge area and they are inputting 6 extra outside cabins on Deck 4 so marginally increasing capacity. She will carry a rather modest 690 guests and include the standard things that Azamara offer all passengers with gratuities included, as well as soft drinks and an alcoholic drinks package and on longer sailings a space on their Aza – mazing Evening excursions giving guests the opportunity to enjoy a real cruise highlight included in the price.

The managing director of Azamara has praised the UK cruise market adding that as a nation we have shown a huge amount of support and growth in bookings, and I wonder if that has driven the decision to place the refurbishment works in the hands of Belfast.
